COEFFICIENT of FRICTION ASTM D-2047 COEFFICIENT of FRICTION ASTM D-1984-93 FLAMMABILITY ASTM E-84-91a

FLAMING and SMOLDERING TESTS
Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 302 FLAMMABILITY of INTERIOR MATERIALS as published in the Federal Register Rev. 11/28/75. (49 CFR 571.302)

TABER ABASION RESISTANCE of COATING ASTM D4060-90

SURFACE FLAMMABILITY E 162

SMOKE GENERATION E 662

TOXIC GAS PRODUCTION - BOMBARDIER SMP 801

TEST PERFORMED: STATIC COEFFICIENT of FRICTION (COF) ASTM D-2047

TEST RESULTS

The James Machine was used to test both the SAFTI-TRAX™ Dome System and the SAFTI-TRAX™ Mat System

Product Identification Static Coefficient of Friction Values Average
SAFTI-TRAX™ Dome System0.740.680.780.800.70
0.630.720.700.70

0.660.680.670.70
0.670.730.740.74

Discussion: It is generally recognized that a walking surface must product a COF of 0.5 or greater to be considered slip resistant. In this study, both products tested meet this requirement.

Requirements: The material shall not burn or transmit a flame front across its surface, at a rate of more than 4 inches per minute. However, if a material stops burning before it has burned for 60 seconds from the start of timing and has not burned for more than 2 inches from the point when timing was started, it shall be considered to meet this requirement.

Conclusion: DURABAK was found to meet the requirements of the above standard.

TEST PERFORMED: TABER ABASION RESISTANCE of COATING ASTM D4060-90

RESULTS: The rubber panes that were not coated with DURABAK showed a distinct wear pattern, but the DURABAK-coated rubber panels showed only discrete points of wear.
